All of them, with 1 exception, show RP gate workouts on 2/24 and 3/16. Since they all worked on the same days, I'm curious to see if there is ANY correlation between the workout times listed and their actual performances. (I would guess there won't be)Show more1 month ago

The 2 horses that showed the best workouts were in that clump of 7, as were the 3 horses with the slowest works. Variables include PP, the wind dying down, and trouble experienced. Fairly inconclusive results although overall I expected better after the barn did so well last week.Show more1 month ago

Day 2: 10:1-4-0 no futurity qualifiers, but qualified a 2nd horse for the consolation. For the 2nd night in a row his fastest horse according to workouts ran in the slowest part of the card. His 2 best horses tonight had the 3rd and 8th best workout times.Show more4 weeks ago
Ace The TestOne more observation is that on 3/16, 4 JO runners were clocked in exactly 12.36. Three were clocked in 11.69. Then, 2 each in 11.61, 12.21, 12.41, and 13.05. The same pattern appeared on 2/24. Its statistically impossible for so many horses to end up with matching times. That tells me that Olmstead (or probably any trainer) brings a set to the gate, and the clocker is told who the runners are, but doesn't know who is who, so the clocker is just splitting the difference between the first and last horse in each set and giving all the horses in the set, the same time. Which means the times are meaningless. Coupled with the fact that some horses (unraced 2yos, remember) sometimes get credited with times faster than the track record (11.547) it just drives home how inaccurate the times are that handicappers are given. It just seems so primitive. If this is the best that a human can do, how about putting chips in the saddle towels (like Trakus) to identify the horses and provide a more accurate clocking? This isn't some county fair in Idaho, this is the big leagues. (And these workout time shenanigans occur everywhere except LA).Show more4 weeks ago

Remington does a lot of things that I like, and there are reasons that I follow the racing nightly. Offering the training races on video and showing them on the simulcast gives the wagering public an opportunity to see about 70% of the debuters prep, and you just don't get that at most places. And that takes some effort. So I don't mean to put them on a complete blast, and the things I brought up are probably occurring almost everywhere. But there are always areas that can be improved upon.Show more4 weeks ago

My favorite races to bet are quarters.
Second is trotters and I do not mean pacers I love trotters , but gambling on quarter is my favorite to bet .
I really enjoyed watching the workouts that Les use to go over at Los AL.
